When we finally decided to get Marley’s ears pierced we got a lot of flack from a bunch of people. Some disapproved of it and some wished that they would have gutted their babies ears peered earlier. Then we were told that you need to wait until at least 3 months old. So we did, and when her three month birthday came along, mama gave her a gift that would make her look like a little girl. Now, she really looks cute. We have been getting a lot of mixed reactions from people about getting her ears pierced so young. We did some research beforehand, and
talked to friends who have gotten their girls ears pierced early as well. All of out friends that had it done said it turned out was fine and were happy they did it. We felt it would be better to get the done sooner than later, because then she would always be use to them. The ear piercing didn’t bother her at all. She did grate, and seemed to like the new look of her ears, because after she looked in the mirror and smiled big! Here are some things to remember if you plan on getting your little one’s ears pierced.
Always keep the ear area clean during the first six weeks of healing.
Use Q-tips or gauze to clean around the ears. Be sure to use a fresh one for each ear.
Apply ear antiseptic or solution to clean the site of the ear piercing
Understand that once pierced, your daughter should wear the earrings continuously, except for cleanings, for the next four to six months.
Be sure to rotate the earrings once or twice a day during the first six weeks.
Make sure that all caregivers know about the earrings and how to keep the area clean.
