There are several online poker books out describing anything from poker strategy to different types of poker games. These poker books can be interesting to read. Can they really help? The different types of books out there for poker can be confusing and at times not helping your skill.
Poker books coming in several different themes and styles at times only serve as guidelines or a possibility of an interesting reading experience. Many of these books tell of the ‘winning strategy’ that will help your poker game. However, with poker, there are several factors that can make you win or loose a game and poker books can’t predict necessarily what the player will do.
The books that are out there about poker can serve as a guideline to help the initial beginner with poker. Ways of learning to play that are unfamiliar to them, or learning just the basics of a game such as Texas holdem, can help them when entering a new poker game. For the veteran player, these books may become a hindrance in their poker playing.
Overall, poker has different methods in playing based on rules and style of the player and the poker game itself. A poker book will not necessarily help with these two things when playing against other players who maybe very unpredictable.
