Posted in : Technology Management , trackbackThe days where gaming notebooks were a niche market are disappearing very fast. Although they weren’t great sellers they did have massive margins. These were the laptop computers you constantly thought of but were out of your reach. They were like the supreme example of what could be done with laptop technology. The best laptop computers on offer. Regardless of whether that was true I think the prices were so high that we would buy laptops that were not so good instead. As larger companies see the opening in the gaming laptop market, everything looks to have transformed.
In my point of view they would get off by retailing them at a greater price if they wanted. It is a great chance for them to get back gross markup as the markup on consumer laptop computers are so small nowadays. International companies would surely find it easier to get us to buy these laptop computers. What can small system builders possibly do if their prices are undercut? In my opinion the tier 1 manufacturers will command the market trends. In my opinion if anybodies decided to spend a lot of cash the brand name always comes out on top.
I reckon its unfair that as it comes with the brand name they’re seamlessly perceived as the best laptop computers. This is no doubt the main unique sales proposition left for the littler guys. Being able to buy exactly what parts they desire is a big factor for the majority potential buyers who are thinking of buying a gaming laptop. These kinds of people broadly speaking are well informed on the technology and will compare spec for spec. In comparing power and looks, these purchasers typically choose the former.
All the changes are really favourable from the customers standpoint. Newer technology will be increasingly acquirable in the future for most customers because it will act to push prices down further. Do not forget that is just my point of view on the current trends.Prices will most likely stay consistently high as there are constantly new laptops being launched. It’s difficult to know what will occur now that the global brands have become involved in making gaming notebooks.
